SERVICE DETAILS

We have a range of manufacturing services that are ideal for mass production. These processes usually incur a higher setup cost. But don’t be put off, our prices and lead times are excellent.

The piece part prices of components made using mass manufacturing methods are inexpensive. This offsets the higher upfront costs. As a result the relative overall costs are low. Therefore making these processes very attractive.

Because we want to get it right for you first time, we provide a DFM of your design. Our goal is to optimise for tool life and part quality.

Ultraform’s Injection moulding manufacturing service includes both Tool Design and Moulding.

If you need a plastic component, then injection moulding gives you the very best piece part cost.

A wide variety of mould sizes are available to tool and mould. We also have a lot of experience in producing complex tools, with multiple sliders and side movers.

If desired, we can analyse your part and give suggestions on gating and cavity numbers. Both hot tip or cold runner solutions are available.

We stock a wide range of plastics and deal with multiple material suppliers.

A stamping and forming process, where a metal sheet or strip is run down a line. At each stage progressively stamping additional details into the part.

This is an extremely fast, precise and cost effective processes.

Examples of work include:

  • Shield Cans for Electronic PCB assemblies
  • Drink Can Lids
  • Spring Clips
  • Brackets
  • Electrical Terminals

Parts are created by forcing some stock metal into a Die. This is all done at room temperature. Hence the name “Cold Forging”.

This is a highly repeatable and speedy process. Meaning it’s the perfect process for mass manufacturing.

Examples of cold forged parts include:

  • Studs, Nuts, Bolts and Bushings
  • Housing for LED Lights
  • Pin Heatsinks
  • Components for the Automotive and Aerospace industries

By forcing metal through a Die, you can achieve parts that have uniform cross sections. This process has low setup costs. It can also be used produce low to high volumes.

It’s possible to create items such as:

  • Heatsinks for PCB Assemblies
  • Beams
  • Railings
  • Frames
  • Mounts

The Rubber Compression Moulding process is where a rubber material is put under heat and pressure to create a new geometry. You can use multiple cavities to gain economies of scale.

This process is often used to create:

  • Rubber Grommets
  • Seals & Gaskets
  • Rubber Mats
  • Rubber Feet
  • Keypads
  • Buttons
